Slapdee Announces Return With New Album, Recalls How “Lituation” Was Born

Slapdee has confirmed that a brand-new album is officially in the works, marking the end of his extended silence from the music scene. The Zambian hip-hop star explained that his reduced output over the past months was deliberate, as he has been dedicating time and focus to creating a complete project for his fans.

Looking back, Slapdee also shared the untold story behind one of his biggest hits, Lituation, which featured Nigerian dancehall icon Patoranking. The link-up, he revealed, happened thanks to music promoter Vjeezy during the Mosi Day of Thunder event, where Patoranking was billed to perform.

Even though Slapdee paid for the feature, he admitted he had to prove his worth. Not part of the official event lineup, he still took to the stage and delivered a strong performance that caught Patoranking’s attention. The Nigerian star eventually recorded his verse weeks later, unexpectedly sending it through in the middle of the night.

The finishing touch came from the late Daev Zambia, who laid down the hook in just 15 minutes. Slapdee credited Daev’s natural brilliance for transforming the track into a classic, adding that he has always trusted Daev and Elisha Long when it comes to powerful hooks.

Slapdee stressed that beyond studio costs, the success of Lituation was built on timing, respect, and shared passion. With his upcoming album on the way, the rapper says fans should brace for another chapter in his journey as the King of Zambian hip-hop.
